Ivanti on Windows

Tech Services would like to announce a new endpoint management software for computers on campus. The software, Ivanti is an industry-leading suite of management and security tools. This product will replace KACE on all Windows-based devices. This software will install an agent on computers and scan devices for configuration, asset management and software updates. Ivanti will allow Information Technology to update Windows, Office and many other third party applications - thereby making the computing environment more secure and stable.

  • You can schedule reboots to when it's convenient for you
  • You will see more friendly reboot prompts
  • You will have the new Self Service Portal to install software and get help
  • You will see more reliable and predictable software releases
  • You will see a new software update process

What else does this software do?

  • Ivanti will allow IT staff to remotely support and troubleshoot PCs
  • Scan for vulnerabilities
  • Allow IT to more quickly deploy applications and fixes to the campus
  • Monitor software license usage
  • Discover and inventory networked-attached devices
  • Automate deployments and software interactions
  • Provide self-service tools

Additionally, Ivanti allows IT to more consistently and pro-grammatically release software to campus. Performance

It is possible that users will see Ivanti-related process taking up CPU and Memory. IT has done significant testing and configuration in hopes to minimize the impact of this software. What is it doing? Good question. The software scans devices for available Windows Updates, Office Updates and other security-related updates that are needed. This process can take up to an hour but generally take less than thirty minutes.
