Requesting Your Initial UMass Lowell Visa Document

Step 1: Please make sure to confirm your admission by paying your enrollment deposit through the Admissions portal. After clicking on this link, you will see three separate boxes where you can check your application status depending on the program you have applied to - please note, this is also where you will login to pay your enrollment deposit. Please be sure to click on the box which corresponds to the program you have applied to (for F1 and J1 applicants, this will be either Undergraduate or Graduate).

Step 2: Claim your UMass Lowell credentials:

Step 3: Navigate to the UMassVIP Services Login Page. Once there, click on the box that says "Login" under the "Current Students, Faculty, or Staff" section. Underneath the Login button, you will see that it says "A Network ID and password are required" - this is referring to your UMass Lowell credentials.

To access the portal, you will need to enter your UMass Lowell credentials:

  • Username: FirstName_LastName@student.uml.edu
  • Password: YourPa$$word

Step 4: Click on the "Admission" tab on the left navigation bar, and then click on the "Visa Document Request" link.

Step 5: Click on "Start a New Request"

Step 6: Begin with the "Biographical Information" e-form. Then, complete the "Financial Verification" e-form. If you will be accompanied by a dependent(s), complete the "Adding a Dependent" e-form. If you will be transferring your SEVIS record, complete the "Transfer SEVIS Record Request" e-form. For only those students requesting a DS-2019, you must complete the "J-1 Form DS-2019 ONLY | E-ship Mailing Request" e-form.

Step 7: Complete the "Submission Verification" e-form. This will notify ISSO of your visa document request!
