International Student & Scholars Office

About Us

UMass Lowell is enriched by the unique perspectives, cultures and native languages of our international students, scholars and employees enrich campus life. They hail from more than 60 countries.

The International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) is here to help international students adjust to life on campus and in the United States, providing assistance with work authorization, social security applications, compliance with academic and immigration regulations and more.

Since 2008, the international student population has doubled. The ISSO assists an average of 1,000 students and scholars annually with cultural adjustment, academic and immigration related concerns.
