R. Eugene Mellican Honors Fellowship

R. Eugene Mellican Honors Fellowship

The R. Eugene Mellican Honors Fellowship is awarded to an Engineering honors student in good standing who has earned at least 30 college credits. The recipient will receive $1,000 ($10/hour for 100 hours) and will be expected to read and study a body of work selected by the Dean of the Honors College. The reading can be spread across the academic year. The recipient will be asked to periodically present and discuss the readings with a group assembled by the Dean of the College. For the upcoming 2015-2016 academic year, the honors fellow will read and study Plato, as follows:

  1. The Symposium
  2. Euthyphro
  3. Apology
  4. Crito
  5. Phaedo
  6. The Republic

Interested students should download and print this application (pdf). Once it is filled out, slide it beneath Jim Canning’s office door (O’Leary 124) on or before September 30, 2015.
