Andrea Coppola Mendes, DPT has served as Visiting Professor since the fall of 2013. Previously, Mendes served as an Adjunct Faculty member from 2011-2013. Mendes’ teaching responsibilities are in both the Graduate Physical Therapy program and the Undergraduate Exercise Physiology program. Mendes integrates her clinical expertise into academic instruction. She continues her clinical work in acute care. Mendes is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, (Acute Care and Geriatric sections). Clinical interests: geriatrics, cardiopulmonary, complex medical and post-surgical orthopedics. Research interests include the use of integrative methodology and simulated environments to optimize student learning. Mendes earned her Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Geriatrics from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in June of 2016.
