Eta Omega Members go to Ghana

UMass Lowell faculty (Valerie King), UMass Lowell alumna Maura Norton and 10 senior nursing students went to Ghana in January 2010 to deliver medical supplies and nursing care to people in the Volta region. In addition to multiple hypertension screening clinics, they also participated in HIV educational programs, HIV testing, dental-health programs for children, and water-safety presentations, and they conducted an educational program for Ghanian Nurses.

The National Nurse's Forum held in Ho, Ghana, was partially funded by a $200 grant from Eta Omega (thank you). This is the second trip for King and Norton as they accompany the UMass Lowell Nursing Students Without Borders on this amazing journey.

Eta Omega members (senior nursing students) who went on this trip were Allison Geissert, Renee Glennon, Michelle Peterson, Elizabeth Long and Jody Roper.
