Learn About Careers In Nursing

Welcome Guidance Counselors and Teachers

Nurse of the Future Club Tool Box

Nurse of the Future Clubs for high school and middle school students

The Nurse of the Future Club Tool Box is a research based learning curriculum for introducing Nursing as a career for high school and middle school students created with Nurse of the Future goals and objectives. It introduces students to the careers available to nurses, activities nurses perform, and study skills for student success.

Years of research in recruiting disadvantaged students have taught us that interventions in the middle and high school years positively affect a student's interest and knowledge about a career in nursing.

This curriculum tool box was created and used for seven years at local city schools with students reporting:

  • Increased interest and desire to become a nurse
  • Enjoyed the hands on activities
  • Increased desire to be a nurse to care for others
  • Improved understanding of all the opportunities for nurses
  • Learned nursing is not a career just for girls
  • Desired to improve grades in high school to be accepted in college
  • Increased understanding of the importance of math for calculating medication¬†
