Students entering college may not have taken a philosophy course in high school, but chances are they touched upon the work of some of the world's greatest thinkers during their secondary education. Aristotle, Socrates, Thoreau and Nietzsche are just some of the many important philosophers whose work resonates in many aspects of contemporary society. Humans still wrestle with many of the same moral and ethical dilemmas as our ancestors, issues that seem to become even more complex as times passes and new challenges appear.
In today's highly competitive job market, some students may be wondering how philosophy will prepare them for the future. But many career opportunities emerge from the study of this discipline.
