Dr. Ubelaker Andrade's research is principally on 20th-century Latin American fiction, with an emphasis on Argentina, though he also writes about Cervantes and other writers from the Early Modern period. Topics of research often involve the presence of visuality and visual culture within literary texts. His latest book, Borges Beyond the Visible, was published by Penn State University Press in 2019.
