Julia teaches in the First-Year Writing Program at UMass Lowell. She is the author of two collections of poetry: Post Moxie, winner of the 2009 Katherine A. Morton Prize and The Trapdoor. She has taught creative writing and college writing since 2000 at many colleges, universities and private high schools. She lives with her husband and their dachshund, Edie.
