Center for Third World Organizing - National organization dedicated to the struggle for social and economic justice for low-income people and people of color.

Institute for Women's Policy Research - Researches economic issues important to women and families, including low-wage work, poverty, welfare reform, child care, family leave, contingent work, pay equity, and healthcare.

Massachusetts government site for Housing and Community Development. Includes background information on every community in Massachusetts.

NAACP - National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

National Council of LaRaza - National umbrella organization working for civil rights and economic opportunities for Latinos.

National Governor's Association - Has information on state-level policies.

ACORN - Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.  Advocates for local involvement and control over issues affecting communities.  Sponsors of 'living wage' laws in many cities.
