Andrea Scofield Olmstead lives and works in a studio in Southern Massachusetts. Olmstead received a B.F.A. in drawing from Florida State University, and an M.F.A. in sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

Following graduation, Olmstead worked as a studio assistant for a public artist in Boston, installing large public works at the Midway Airport, Chicago and the Melvin Price Federal Courthouse, E. St. Louis, Ill. She has exhibited regionally and nationally. Her work was featured in Lovey Town, Exhibition Series Vol. 6, and she is preparing for the show, The Beast and Me at the Grimshaw Gudewicz Art Gallery, Bristol Community College.

Olmstead is passionate about teaching, regarding it as an honor, and stresses the importance of thoroughly understanding sculptural materials.
