Jonathan Silverman’s work examines modern American culture and history. He is the author of "Nine Choices: Johnny Cash and American Culture," the co-author of "The World Is a Text: Writing About Visual and Popular Culture," and the co-editor of "Remaking the American College Campus: Essays." He has published work in "Prospects," "The Rumpus," "The End of Austin" and "The Journal of the American West" and wrote for PBS’s website, "Remotely Connected." He is currently working on projects about Johnny Cash’s international fans, the history of horse racing, and his year as a Fulbright Roving Scholar in Norway, lecturing to Norwegian high schools about American culture. He was also a John H. Daniels fellow at the National Sporting Library.
