Master of Education & Education Specialists Degrees

Advance your professional career in education

Certificates and Degrees

Looking to extend your professional knowledge? We offer Master's degrees and Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degrees which are 30 credits beyond the master's level. Most of our degrees are offered completely online, which provides busy professionals with the flexibility to continue their education while working full-time. GREs are not required for entry into our advanced degrees, but you will need to provide evidence of your teaching license and must be a practicing teacher as many of our courses require you to gather data in your classroom.

We also offer graduate certificates which can be transferred into a master's degree.

Professional Licensure

The College of Education offers programs which could be configured (with the help of an advisor) to contain at least 12 credits of content area coursework suitable for professional licensure in Massachusetts for teachers who hold certain licenses. The candidate must submit his/her degree information, and application for Professional Licensure directly to DESE through ELAR. Only DESE can assess whether credentials meet the requirements for professional licensure. Please visit the DESE website for the most current information.
