Again this year, we are projecting the largest graduating class in UMass Lowell history. Because of this growth, seating has become extremely limited for both graduates and their guests at the Tsongas Center, raising concerns about comfort and safety for everyone.

Therefore, we will make the following adjustments to try to address these concerns while doing what we can to make this day an enjoyable one for graduates and their guests:

  • Commencement Ceremonies: We will hold two Commencement Ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, followed by the afternoon ceremony at 2:30 p.m. the same day. Both ceremonies will take place at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.
  • Tickets: Graduates themselves do not need tickets, but their guests do. Tickets are free. Graduating students will receive an email from the Tsongas Center about ordering their tickets in late March. Students will be able to order their tickets online through the Tsongas Center after that date. Each graduate is guaranteed up to 6 tickets if they order by the deadline in May.
  • Video Streaming: As in years past, the Commencement Ceremonies will be streamed on the web in their entirety for those with internet access. Watch live on desktop, mobile, Facebook and captioned during the ceremonies.
