OVERVIEW OF INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS

We offer many paddle sports instructional programs for people just getting started to those seeking advanced skills and even instructor certification. Click on the links below to learn more or to register. All equipment and supplies are included unless otherwise noted.

American Canoe Association (ACA)Level 1-2: Essentials of Kayak Touring Instructor Development/Certification Workshop (IDW / ICW)

This course is an America Canoe Association Instructor Development and Certification Workshop for Level 1 and Level 2 Instructors for Essentials of Kayak Touring.

Equipment

Those who own their own kayak and equipment are encouraged to use it during this course.

All necessary program equipment is provided.

Physical Exertion

Moderate: Participants will paddle 1-5 mi. / 2-8 km. and current may be present but weak. Waves will be less than 1 foot with the potential for winds up to 10 mph. Expect potentially cold water. Previous experience is recommended but not required. Swimming ability with life jacket assistance is required. Paddle times usually run 3-5 hours a day.
