What got you interested in fitness and exercise?
Throughout high school I played volleyball year round which kept me active. During college I began to weight lift and studying exercise physiology helped me learn how to properly weight lift and create programs for myself. I liked how I was able to mix up my workouts and never get bored because there are so many possibilities when it comes to exercising.
Why did you want to become a personal trainer at Campus Recreation?
I enjoy working out and all the benefits that come from it. I wanted to be able to help others understand how good exercise is for them and teach them that they can have fun while doing it.
What is your philosophy on fitness?
Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore and I hope that sharing my passion with others helps them realize that working out and being active doesn’t have to be the same boring routine. Being able to work out is the highlight of my day because I get to focus on my health and bettering myself and I hope to inspire others to change the way they think about exercise.
What are some of your hobbies and other interests?
I love being outdoors and active so I like to spend time at the beach, in my backyard, or going for hikes. I also enjoy traveling and exploring nature and the outdoors in other places around the world.
