What got you interested in fitness and exercise?
I have always had a true passion for dance which is why I began to incorporate exercise into my life. During high school, I was a member of the Lynn English cross country and track and field team where I started to enjoy running. My knowledge gained as an exercise physiology student has encouraged me to continue living a physically active life.
Why did you want to become a personal trainer at Campus Recreation?
I knew this would be a great opportunity for me to use my knowledge and skills gained from academic experiences to impact students or faculty member’s lives in a positive way. My vision when beginning personal training was to help each and every person I work with reach their fitness goals and make them really appreciate exercise. I love meeting and working with new people so I was very excited to do so!
What is your philosophy on fitness?
I think that anything is possible, including reaching your fitness goals. With hard work, a positive mindset, and an individualized exercise program, you can reach your fitness goals. Fitness should become a way of life!
What are some of your hobbies and other interests?
Dance which I have been doing for several years. Boxing which I recently picked up on and love. Spending time with my family, boyfriend, and friends. Running – I am planning on running a half marathon this fall and recently race a Spartan Super Race and have run one half marathon and a couple Spartan Races in the past.
