Capoeira Club

A capoeira, kung fu fight, between two students at a gym area. Other students are there demonstrating the capoeira.

The UMass Lowell Capoeira Club aims to promote the African-Brazilian Art form of Capoeira through classes and performances provided free and by-donation to the community.

Developed over 400 years by Africans enslaved in Brazil, Capoeira combines self-defense, acrobatics and folkloric traditions in a dynamic physical dialog that takes place in time to live music. Classes focus on strength, flexibility and endurance training through the physical forms of Capoeira.
