Mark recently moved to the United States with his family from Oxford, England. There, he was the Head of Design Technology for Claires Court Independent school in Maidenhead and a coach for J14 and J15 rowing. He also held the positions of Health and Safety Officer and Rowing Welfare Officer. Mark helped coach crews who have won medals and titles at both the British National School Regatta and the National Championship of Great Britain in 2013. He also previously coached an Oxford College women's crew, Marlow Rowing Club Seniors, and City of Oxford Juniors.
Mark has personally competed as a Junior, Senior and Master in both sculling and rowing, winning medals both Nationally and Internationally. Mark rowed for Wales at the Home Countries and the Commonwealth Regattas. He still rows today, most recently in England at both Marlow and Abingdon Rowing Clubs, where he has won the Henley Masters, the Fours Head and National Veteran’s Championships of Great Britain. In addition to coaching the UMass Lowell Women, Mark is also the Head Coach at Hollis/Brookline High School.
