Educational Background

Denver Seminary MA, Campus Ministry
Colorado College BA, Biology

After graduating from Colorado College (Biology), I worked for a campus ministry group (Campus Ambassadors) for nine years. After the first two years, we relocated from Colorado Springs to Lowell, Massachusetts and established a CA group at what was then the University of Lowell. Over the course of four summers (1975-1978) I completed a MA in Campus Ministry at Denver Seminary. I was ordained to ministry in 1979.

In 1983, a position opened for an Assistant Dean of Students at a time I had decided to make a career shift. Moving to student affairs proved to be the right step. After a new Dean of Students was named in 2000, I became the Associate Dean of Students. In 2002, I was promoted to Dean of Student Services, overseeing the police department, student health services, counseling, disability services, career services, new student programs, and a host of other student services such as judicial affairs, intercampus transportation, the university bookstores, and helping with access services.

In the spring of 2005, I was asked to consider helping with the enrollment areas and in September of that year I formally transitioned to become the Dean of Enrollment and Student Success. In this, my current, position, I oversee admissions (undergraduate and continuing studies), financial aid, scholarships, and orientation. The title expresses my desire to establish an enrollment management program that is defined in terms of student success. Hence, my function is to work collaboratively from the point of inquiry through the point of employment to support student success through all of the key points of transition.
