UMass Lowell is committed to:

  • Establishing partnerships among our faculty and students with those from universities in strategic areas around the globe, across disciplines, in scholarship, research, economic development projects, and public diplomacy;
  • Discovering new ways to reach out to immigrant communities in the Merrimack Valley in particular and Eastern Massachusetts, in general;
  • Finding ways to reach out to our international alumni and to involve them in the ongoing life of the UMass Lowell community.

The areas of international cooperation may include collaborative efforts such as:

  • Joint research projects and publications, including work by graduate students at the partner institutions;
  • Dual articulated degree programs;
  • Faculty and student exchanges;
  • Reciprocal placement of students in paid internships and co-ops;
  • Joint conferences and workshops;
  • Team taught courses, including online courses; and
  • Visits by faculty, professional staff and students.
