The UMass Lowell (UML) Faculty Work Climate survey is designed to assess faculty’s experiences of microaggressions, bias, feeling value / devalued, and support within various academic settings. It has been administered on a biennial basis since 2017.

The 2017, 2019 and 2021 surveys were part of the NSF-Funded Making WAVES Initiative. Future biennial surveys will be conducted by the ADVANCE Office for Faculty Equity now funded by the Provost’s Office to both expand and institutionalize the work that has been done by WAVES over the last five years.
