Equity Awards

Applications for departmental awards for effective practices in promoting equity must include a cover sheet with information about the name of the nominated initiative and names of the faculty members within the department involved in the initiative. The nomination must also include an overview of the innovative initiative, the initiative goals, and the actual or anticipated impact. Applications must be submitted by the department chair and received by March 1, 2019.
The primary criteria for selection will be potential and/or demonstrated impact on equity at the department level, i.e., to increase diverse representation among faculty and/or to improve departmental climate and other supports for diverse faculty.

Recipients of the Equity Awards will be notified in March and will be recognized during a special event in April and at the Annual Faculty Symposium in November.
