The UML 10K Business Plan Competition offers students and alumni of the
University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) an opportunity to develop business plans and
launch new ventures. The UML $10K Business Plan Competition is designed to encourage
students and researchers in the UML community to act on their talent, ideas and energy to
produce tomorrow's leading firms. Students and alumni form teams, develop their business
ideas and compete for cash and in kind prizes. The UML Business Plan Competition provides
teams who enter with valuable resources in the following areas crucial to the success of
entrepreneurship:
- Networks of world-class entrepreneurs, investors and potential
partners
- Mentorship by seasoned professionals
- Education in specific business planning skills as a well as general
entrepreneurial insights
- Teambuilding opportunities to create a winning team of founders
- Prize funding to help start the ventures of WINNING teams in the
competition
The goal of the $10K Business Plan Competition is to
promote entrepreneurship and the development of start-up companies by members of the UML
community and to build bridges between UML and the Merrimack entrepreneurial community. To
encourage commercialization of promising ideas emerging from UML's strong technology
tradition.
