UCard, Access and Parking Services (UCAPS)

Q. Do I need to apply for a decal even if I plan to park in the satellite lot, which requires no parking fee?
A. Yes.  This will ensure that only University employees use those spaces.

Q. How long will I have to wait for a shuttle from the satellite lot?
A. The shuttles depart on average every 15 minutes from each location, though times may vary depending on traffic, weather and road construction in the city.

Q.  Have these fees been approved by the campus unions?
A.  Language has been included in all the Collective Bargaining Agreements. No-cost parking is available.

Q. What about department chairpersons, who currently have reserved spaces?
A.  Chairs will have a limited number of reserved spaces (in any lot excluding resident student lots and Cumnock and Solomont Way). The cost will be $145/year.

Q. What if I am a part-time employee?
A. Part-time employees may choose the $80 per year or no-cost satellite option. The rate is the same since they have equal access to lots a full-time employees.

Q.  How do I reserve a designated/preferred parking space in the Cumnock or Wannalancit Lots?
A.  Go to our Designated/Preferred Parking page and follow directions.  There are a limited number of those spaces.

Q.  What changes, if any, are being made for students with cars?
A.  Residential student parking fees will be $224 per year and commuter and part-time student parking fees will be $176 per year.  Residential students may only park in their assigned residential lots.  Freshmen students are required to park in the 1001 Pawtucket Blvd Lot.

Q.  Is there a no-cost option for students?
A. No.  Students do not have this option after the 2010-2011 academic year.

Q.  What about continuing education students?
A. Those continuing studies students who park on campus before 3:30 p.m. will be required to obtain a decal.  After 3:30 p.m., continuing studies students may park in any lot where gates are raised, except residential lots or designated/visitor spaces.
