Description The extensive use of rivers from water supply,
transportation, or sources of power often led to their abuse and pollution. Activities
Include - Participation in a water chemistry lab which demonstrates
pollution and claning techniques
- Discovering how the Merrimack River has
been rehabilitated
- Visit the Francis Gatehouse to learn how the great
gate saved the city from flooding twice
Scheduling and
Reservations Riverworks is offered April 2-May 18, 2007. For the
2007-2008 School year, Riverworks will be offered October 18, 2007 - November
21, 2007; April 7 - May 16, 2008. 2007-2008 Guided School Program
Fees: $195
(Note: Schools must arrange to keep buses in Lowell for use
during the program.)
Programs may be reserved as of May 1, 2008 for dates during the 2008-2009 school
year by calling Lowell National Historical Park at 978-970-5000. Please
