Description Lowell was a leader in engineering and mechanical
innovation in early industrial America. Students can be inventors too,
and in this workshop groups are faced with a challenge to solve through design.
Activities Include - Use the engineering descign process
to solve a program.
- Patent their invention
- Explore a 19th-century
mill to see a power train consisting of a turbine, fly wheel, belts and pulleys.
- View the multi-media presentation, ''The Industrial Revelation" at the
Visitor Center.

Programs may be reserved as of May 1, 2008 for dates during the 2008-2009 school
