Description Farm to Factory focuses on the transition
from an agrarian society to an industrial society as experienced by a young woman
who leaves her New England farm to work in a Lowell mill. Some members of the
class dress in 19th century reproduction clothing and each student will pick,
card, and spin wool, and weave cloth on small looms. Scheduling
and Reservations This program is offered October 15, 2007-April 30, 2008. FEES per
class of 30 students: $110 for first school program, $85 for successive same-day
program.
Programs may be reserved as of May 1, 2008 for dates during the 2008-2009 school
