
Description
Grades 4-12
During the Industrial Revolution, the new factory workplace changed the nature of work and the relative power of workers and owners.
Activities include:
- Becoming workers on a textile printing assembly line
- Experiencing a loss of control as equipment is "speeded up"
- Reacting to wage cuts
- Investigating child labor, past and present
- Visiting the Boott Cotton Mills Museum with its operating power looms.
Scheduling and Reservations
Workers On The Line is offered September through June.
Guided School Program Fees: $195
Programs may be reserved now for dates during the 2011-2012 school year
