
Description
Grades 3-12
All technological change in turn produces a change in the nature of work. Students examine changes in technology and work roles.
Activities include:
- Producing cloth on four-harness hand looms
- Identifying how changes in technology affected the role of the worker.
- Designing mill floors incorporating technological changes
- Visiting the Boott Cotton Mills Museum with its operating power looms, and exploring the boardinghouse.
Scheduling and Reservations
Bale to Bolt is offered September through June.
Guided School Program Fees: $195
Programs may be reserved now for dates during the 2011-2012 school year by calling Lowell National Historical Park at 978-970-5000.
