Grades 3-12

All technological change in turn produces a change in the nature of work. Students examine changes in technology and work roles.

Activities include:

  1. Producing cloth on four-harness hand looms
  2. Identifying how changes in technology affected the role of the worker.
  3. Designing mill floors incorporating technological changes
  4. Visiting the Boott Cotton Mills Museum with its operating power looms, and exploring the boardinghouse.

Scheduling and Reservations

Bale to Bolt is offered September through June.

Guided School Program Fees: $195
