Graduate Student OrganizationsAdvanced Composite Materials Club Concentrates in the field of textile composite materials. Advisor: Julie Chen Auto Club Based in the Mechanical Engineering Department, this club is mainly to provide a forum for people who are interested in cars, eager to understand the car's mechanism, to communicate and improve their skills to repair or maintain their own car. Some members have rich experience in repairing cars and are willing to help others. Advisor: Jacqueline Paradise Bioinformatics Club Provides an informal association of graduate students with a shared interest in bioinformatics. It encourages the academic and social awareness of bioinformatics among the faculty, staff and students of the University. Advisor: Kenneth Marx Chinese Graduate Student and Scholar Assocation Increases the connection among Chinese students and scholars. Makes living and studying more efficient and easier. Advisor: David Ryan Environmental Modal Analysis Club Uses various machines such as a car, computer or air conditioner to understand how they work mechanically. The purpose of the club is to fill the gap between students' knowledge and the actual functioning of common machines. Advisor: Peter Avitabile Graduate Indian Student Association Helps new Indian students, i.e., picking them up at the airport, provide them with temporary accommodations, help them to find housing and on-campus clubs. The club also promotes and organizes Indian cultural activities. Advisor: Chandrika Sharma Korean Graduate Student Assocation Promotes fellowship among members, exchange scholastic and cultural information on Korea and introduce Korean culture and tradition to the UML community. The purpose of Lowell CHI is to promote interest and education with the campus and the local community regarding the design, impact, usefulness, and innovation in computer systems with regard to how they affect their human users and the community. Advisor: Marian Williams New England Technical Association Provides an opportunity to exchange technological breakthroughs in the field of engineering among universities in the New England states. With changing technology, each student must continuously incorporate new concepts and developments. The club's mission is to fulfill this role and serve as a link to various technologically oriented departments. Advisor: Lynne Samuelson Psychology Graduate Student Organization Seeks to promote members' understanding of the principles and activities underlying the improvement and change in communities and social systems. By involving graduate students in the Community Social Psychology master’s program through events and activities, it will enhance our awareness of our own diversity and community. The basic activity of this club is to develop the overall personality of its members so that they are well-prepared to represent themselves in society. Rubber Division Club Provides research on different applications of rubber. They collaboratively work with different UML departments (Mechanical, Plastics and Chemical Engineering) as well as different universities and industry. Advisor: Joey Mead Solar Energy Association Promotes professional development of students interested in solar energy, is a means for students to meet and discuss the latest developments in solar energy, and contributes news about solar energy to a wider community. Advisor: John Duffy Thai Graduate Student Association Improves the relationship among Thai students, promotes the mutual understanding between International students, provides information and image about Thai culture to the public, assists the new Thai students with their fundamental needs and organizes local activities.
