At the Office of Student Activities, we place particular emphasis on the development of leadership, life skills and other transferable skills and qualities that will serve students well past their years at the University. Opportunities include the Leadership Advisory Council, Leadership Retreats and the new Leadership Center. The value of the student leader experience is reinforced academically by opportunities to receive credit for structured efforts within some student organizations.
In addition, this office oversees and supports the efforts of the major activity and leadership groups on campus. These include the Connector newspaper, WUML 91.5 radio station, Sojourn yearbook, Off Broadway Players theater group, Visual and Performing Arts Center and the Campus Activities Programming Association. The Campus Activities Programming Association is responsible for all major events at the University, including Family Day, Spring Carnival, major concerts and cultural events, performances by comedians. Student Activities staff serve as advisors to the Student Government Association, the voice of the student body.
