Students must go through the room selection process every year to remain on campus, which usually occurs between February and May. Please look to further information once the process nears. During this time you will have the many different opportunities to stay in your current location (except locations designated as "displaced") or move to a different location on campus. Carefully review the Room Selection Informational Packet (pdf) which can be found online or in the Office of Residence Life. One will also be emailed directly to students.
Current commuters may participate in the 2013-2014 Room Selection process!
Staying on Campus in 3 Easy Steps!
Step 1: Carefully review the "Residence Hall Contract and Terms of Agreement."
Step 2: Return a copy of the housing contract and submit a $200 non-refundable housing deposit to the Office of Residence Life located in Fox Hall by March 30, 2013. Current residents and commuters who meet this deadline are guaranteed housing for the next academic year.
Note: Housing deposits are not accepted at the Bursar's Office and must be
paid at the Office of Residence Life. This can be paid by check, money order, or any major
credit card except American Express.
Step 3: You will be assiged a lottery number by April 5th. You can use this lottery number for the process of your choice below:
- Retain your room
- Pull-in Roommate(s)
- Go through Room Selection
All current residents and commuters must return their contract and deposit on or before March 30, 2013.
Those who complete their contractual obligations after this deadline will go onto our Waitlist. Students on the waitlist will then be assigned based on availability, if any.
Every returning resident and commuter that applies for housing on or before the March 30, 2013 deadline is assigned a Lottery number. Lottery numbers are used for University Suites and Riverview Suites selction process and general room selection process. Lottery numbers are randomly assigned by class year in the following order:
- Seniors/Graduate Students
- Upperclass commuters (juniors/sophomores)
- All other commuters
For example, if 100 seniors/graduate students were to apply for housing, they'd be randomly assigned numbers 1-100. If 400 juniors also applied they'd be assigned 101-500 and so forth.
Lottery Schedule to be posted soon.
