All students are welcome to apply for on-campus housing regardless of where you live or whether you are a matriculated part-time or full-time student.
New freshmen students are guaranteed housing -- don't miss the priority deadline of April 15, 2010!
Housing in 3 Easy Steps!
Step 1: Carefully review the “Residence Hall Contract and Terms of Agreement” (pdf).
Step 2: Return a copy of the housing contract (pdf) and submit a $200 non-refundable housing deposit to:
Office of Residence Life
University of Massachusetts Lowell
100 Pawtucket Street
Lowell, MA 01854
Please make out your check or money order to UMass Lowell, and please DO NOT send cash. Credit cards can be used by filling out the appropriate form (pdf). Sending the contract and/or deposit to any other department, combining the housing deposit with the tuition deposit, or sending the contract without the deposit will significantly delay your housing process.
Step 3: Visit the Online Housing Gateway and select your preferences. Every student must select a meal plan preference or they will be defaulted to the 14 meal plan. You may have to wait up to one week of our department receiving your contract and deposit before being able to log in.
Housing for New Freshmen
The Office of Residence Life is committed to making a student’s first year experience as comfortable as possible. With this goal in mind, we have two Residence Halls, Leitch and Bourgeois, designated solely for freshmen. Additionally, the lower half of Fox Hall and approximately half of Eames Hall for Honors students is also designated for freshmen.
The first year of college offers a wide range of new experiences: living with a roommate, managing money, organizing free time to meet academic responsibilities. The FYRE Program in the freshman halls helps you develop the skills and insights you need to succeed with the exciting new opportunities and challenges of college.
Housing for Transfer Students
Transfer students that apply for housing are eligible to live in any of our upperclassman buildings and apartments. Please note, however, that all transfer students are assigned after we have assigned our returning students.
Housing for MCC Connection Students
The University allows exactly 20 Middlesex Community College students in the Connections program to reside on campus. These spots will be assigned to those who live farthest away from the University who submitted their contract and deposit before the deadline. Please speak to Charles Twomey in the Connections Office at MCC for more information.
