Intersession Housing
For many students, UMass Lowell becomes their home for four years.
During the summer, winter break and spring break, the majority of the residence halls are closed, and students are expected to move back home. Below is information on Intersession Options:
Summer Intersession:
For those who need to remain on campus over the summer, please note that this summer only Moody Street and Merrimack Street will remain open for students. If you wish to remain on campus over the summer please review the Summer Housing Letter and Contract and return it to the Office of Residence Life by Tuesday, May 7, 2013. If you are a current UMass Lowell student that will need summer housing because you are doing a Co-Op through the University please review the Summer Housing Letter and Contract for Co-Op students and return it to the Office of Residence Life by Tuesday, May 7, 2013
If you are interning over the summer and are looking for housing in the Lowell Area please review the Summer Housing Letter and Contract for Interns and return it to the Office of Residence Life.
Winter Break:
For students with a fall housing assignment that need to stay over Winter Break, please note that only Fox Hall, Leitch Hall and Donahue Hall will remain open for students. If you wish to reside on campus over the Winter Break, please review the Winter Intersession Housing Contract (pdf) and return it to the Office of Residence Life by Wednesday December 12, 2012 at 4 p.m.
If you do not live in Fox, Leitch or Donahue Halls, please note that you will need to borrow a room from someone within these halls. You must obtain permission from a resident of these halls, complete the Borrow Form (pdf) and return it to the Office of Residence Life with your Winter Intersession Housing Contract. No exceptions will be made. Please plan ahead, as access to other buildings will shut off at 6 p.m. on the posted Winter Closing date.
Spring Break:
For students with a spring housing assignment that need to stay over Spring Break, please note that only Fox Hall, Leitch Hall, Donahue Hall and the ICC will remain open for students. If you wish to reside on campus over the Spring Break, please review the Spring Break Housing Contract (pdf) and return it to the Office of Residence Life March 6, 2013 at 4 p.m.
If you do not live in Fox Hall, Leitch Hall, Donahue Hall and the ICC, please note that you will need to borrow a room from someone within these halls. You must obtain permission from a resident of these halls, complete the borrow form (pdf) and return it to the Office of Residence Life with your Spring Break Housing Contract. No exceptions will be made. Please plan ahead, as access to other buildings will shut off at 6 p.m. on the Friday Spring Break begins.
All apartments remain open during spring break. Apartment residents do not need to fill out a spring break housing contract. Apartments are not eligible to be borrowed.
