Hello and welcome to UMass Lowell! Starting college can be an exciting, yet daunting experience. Consequently, you will need all the support you can get, throughout the next 4 years! The Campus Ministry Association, of which the Protestant Campus Ministry is an arm, can be a welcome refuge in trying or confusing times. It is also an excellent place to meet and fellowship with new people, while worshipping the Lord.
Protestant Services are held almost every Sunday, at 6:30 PM, in Fox Hall, room 525. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and discussion is encouraged between all attendees of the service, after the scriptures have been read. Services are always followed by refreshments and a social hour, in which students can discuss the past week's events, or plan a community outreach project.
The Protestant Campus Ministry also co-sponsors several programs each year, which focus on providing hospitality to all students, hunger awareness, inter-religious dialog, social activities, and service projects.
You are about to embark on one of the most memorable journeys of your life... do not hesitate to seek help if you're ever confused about campus life, classes, or if you just simply want someone to talk to! When I attended UMass Lowell as an International student, I found the Protest Campus Ministry, and Pastor Imogene Stulken, especially helpful. Even after graduation, and now that I'm in Medical School, I've found the friends (students as well as staff) that I made at UMass to be an integral part of my life.
I congratulate you on your acceptance into the University, and wish you nothing but success in the years to come!
