Immunizations
Massachusetts State Law Chapter 76, Section 15C, also known as the College Immunization Law mandated since 1986, requires all full-time students regardless of major, to provide a medical certificate of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and diphtheria. Additionally, all students enrolled in health sciences programs - full and part-time - must provide proof of immunization.As of September 2004, all undergraduate students, regardless of major, must also have the Hepatitis B series.
Beginning September 2005, all graduate students, regardless of major, must have the Hepatitis B series.
The month, day and year must be given for all immunizations.
As of May 2007, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has mandated that all newly enrolled full-time residential college students receive one of the Meningococcal vaccines or sign the Department of Public Health's waiver form. Download this form or pick one up at Student Health Services.
No newly enrolled (freshman or transfer) student can move into a Residence Hall without having the Meningococcal vaccine or signing a waiver form.

The College Immunization Law requires that students failing to file immunization records be suspended until the requirement is completed. Medical and religious exemptions are allowed but must be appropriately documented.
- The MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine must have been administered after 1968 and after the age of one. In addition, students must provide documentation of having received a second MMR vaccination at least one month after the first or proof of having had the diseases. History of the diseases must be verified with positive titers.
- The Tetanus injection must be within the past ten years. (Current recommendations are for adolescents and adults to receive one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and acellular pertussis) as part of their routine booster series.)
- Hepatitis B vaccine must be given in a series of 3 doses over a 6-month period of time.
- Mantoux Test is a screening test for tuberculosis. This test is not an immunization but a test to determine if the individual has been exposed to tuberculosis. (Please note: The Tine is not accepted.)
