Life Sciences Internship ChallengeThe Life Sciences Internship Challenge is a workforce development program focused on enhancing the talent pipeline for Massachusetts life sciences companies. The program will provide and fund summer 2012 internships for around 80 students or recent graduates who are considering career opportunities in the life sciences. Host companies will commit to providing a dedicated mentor and meaningful internship opportunity that relates to the academic focus of eligible students. Last year's Internship Challenge was met with extraordinary success, with 219 students representing 63 different colleges and universities placed in paid internships at 128 companies across Massachusetts. The Center will once again be collecting applications from eligible students and organizing them in an online database accessible through the Center's website. Companies that register with the Center to host interns will be granted access to review applications and be instructed to contact students directly for interviews. The Center is offering to reimburse companies (with 100 or fewer employees) for intern stipends of up to $15 per hour for 480 hours ($7,200) for students selected through the program. Any student enrolled in a Massachusetts college or university is eligible to apply, provided that they meet the following eligibility * If you attend(ed) a 4-year college or university, you must * If you attend(ed) a community college (or 2-year Associate * If you are a graduate student, you must be entrolled in a Master's Degree program or have received your Master's within the past year.
