How the Alumni Mentoring Program Works
Alumni and friends of the University who are interested in serving as a resource to students and other alumni provide us with basic information about their careers. We keep this information in a database managed by the Office of Career Services and our online partner, Experience Inc. Your information is accessible only to students and alumni who have registered through our office or our Web site. When a student decides to pursue an informational interview, he or she makes contact in a manner the volunteer has chosen.
What You Can Expect as a Volunteer
Students and alumni use the database to research possible career paths. They select volunteers employed in fields of interest to them and then contact those individuals. The database listings also give students and alumni a description of the different kinds of work for which their major prepares them. So, if you don't get a call for an informational interview, don't be disappointed; your listing is still important.
Students are instructed to contact you for information only, not for a job.
