Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Studies have shown that teenagers are the largest population affected by sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Both men and women ages 15 to 19 have the highest rate of chlamydia and gonorrhea, two of the most common STDs.
The American Social Health Association, a voluntary organization dedicated to the prevention and control of STDs, operates the National Sexually Transmitted Disease Hotline under contract with the CDC. Trained counselors are available to answer questions about all STDs. Call the ASHA Hotline at 1-800-227-8922.
