Prior to UMass Lowell, Jessica coordinated Academic Internships at Brandeis University in a joint position with the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences and the Career Center, and was also summer school faculty, teaching an interactive, online, summer internship course. Within other colleges and universities, Jessica has worked developing student-based and experiential learning programs at Mt. Holyoke College, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and Mount Wachusett Community College. Before working in higher ed., she taught public school in South Central, Los Angeles and coordinated outreach and education programs for urban youth in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Areas of Expertise and Professional Interests
Jessica's areas of expertise in higher education include developing academically-integrated experiential learning-based programming. In successfully developing these initiatives, sheís utilizes her experience in faculty/partner relationship building, project management, outcomes assessment, and marketing and branding across all areas of campus. Her passion is preparing students to contribute meaningfully outside of their classrooms. She enjoys implementing aspects of Organizational Behavior and Emotional Intelligence in working with students to understand their value-add to organizations.
Jessica specifically coaches and instructs Electrical and Computer Engineering undergraduate students enrolled in the Professional Co-op Program.
