Serwa started her higher education career working in admissions and this is where her love for helping students select majors that complemented their interest and academic strengths began. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, she served as the Assistant Director for Career Services at a private liberal arts college where she designed and delivered career workshops and events to prepare students in transitioning to the world of work or graduate education. In addition to her work at UMass Lowell, Serwa currently works at the Pathways Center at Middlesex Community College where she provides comprehensive career services to Health and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) students.
Areas of Expertise/Professional Interests
Serwa is passionate in guiding college students to make informed decisions about their careers. Her areas of professional interest and expertise are in managing the learning and development function, career coaching, personal development and supporting the academic success of underrepresented students. As a Certified Professional Résumé Writer, Serwa has studied and trained in résumé writing for different professions and at the various career levels. At UMass Lowell, she counsels and prepares students in all majors with resume development and navigating a successful job search.
