RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way of viewing your own selection of the latest news, features and other website content, updated in real time, and in a single window. You select the websites you'd like to keep to date with, and their content is delivered to your desktop, as soon as it is published.
How do I start using RSS feeds?
- You will need a news reader. This is a small software program that can either stand alone or is embedded in a browser. You select RSS feeds in the news reader, either by drag and drop, or by cutting and pasting the RSS URL into your news reader.
- UMass Lowell currently offers three RSS feeds:
- Press Releases
- News
- Events
Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari, can automatically pick up RSS feeds. For more details, please check their websites.
