Combustion Lab

This Combustion Lab conducts fire research including the chemistry and physics of fire, initiation mechanisms, and fire prevention and extinguishment. These activities support current and pending cooperative efforts with federal and other agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Department of Energy, NASA, NIST, and the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (Bangkok, Thailand).

We also work with UML colleagues in Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, and Physics.
