The Center for Intelligent Biomaterials carries out
basic and applied research on the evolved
intelligent properties of specific biological
macromolecules. This research involves studies to
understand and utilize the informational and
intelligent properties (such as
self-assembly and self-diagnosis) of
specific biological macromolecules, including
proteins and DNA. High tech and biotech companies
can gain access to the informational properties of
biological macromolecules, novel biomaterials,
conceptualizations of novel systems involving
biological macromolecules and their applications to
the companies specific problems and, whenever
possible, equipment support to encourage and
promote industry.
Research areas include:
Study of the cellular apoptotic mechanism and its
dependence on cellular adhesion using the
Electrochemical Quartz Crystal
Microbalance. |
