Search Process


The process to date:

September 20, 2007 - Chancellor Marty Meehan initiates a nationwide search for a new provost. The chancellor appointed a search committee of prominent community leaders and faculty members across campus disciplines, led by Co-Chairs George D. Behrakis, chairman of Gainesborough Investments, and Engineering Prof. Julie Chen, director of the Nanomanufacturing Center of Excellence.

October-November

Input sessions have been held throughout the campus with committee members, search firm representatives, administration, deans, faculty, staff and students. The dates of these meetings are as follows:

October 1--Faculty Senate

October 5--CFCI; Faculty (UML North); Acting Provost Pierson; Staff (UML North); Student Government (UML North and South)

October 9--Deans; Faculty (UML South); Staff (UML South); Vice Provost for Research

October 16--Deans, Administration

October 18--Faculty, Staff (UML North)

October 23--Faculty, Staff (UML South)  

November 13--Community University Advisory Board Breakfast (Notes - pdf)

January and Early February--Interviewing of First and Second Round of Candidates
