The Center for Family, Work & Community
The CRFW is an outreach arm of the University, working to bring faculty, staff and students together with community partners. They are engaged in a wide range of activities, focusing on families, schools, communities, environment and the workplace. The goal is to support the community by working with groups and organizations in the region.

The Center for Women and Work
The Center for Women and Work (CWW) at UMass Lowell is dedicated to improving the conditions of work and enhancing economic opportunities for women through research, education and social action. The Center is also dedicated to addressing the reciprocal relationship between women's work and the well being of communities.


Committee on Industrial Theory and Assessment
The Committee is part of the UMass Lowell Council for Industrial Development. Its goals are to build a theory of industrial development of relevance to the regional economy and to assess the contributions of enterprises and institutions to the innovative performance of the regional economy.

Labor Extension Program
The Labor Extension Program provides educational services and technical assistance to unions in the region covered by the North Shore, Greater Lowell, Lawrence/Haverhill/Newburyport, North Worcester and Worcester/Framingham Central Labor Councils. The UMass Lowell Labor Extension Program also works in conjunction with similar programs at the UMass campuses in Boston, Dartmouth, and Amherst.

TNEC
The New England Consortium is one of 20 national programs administered by the National Institute of Environmental Health Services, and is the New England region's model worker health and safety training organization.

Sustainable Hospitals Project
The Sustainable Hospitals Project focuses on pollution prevention and occupational safety and health in the healthcare industry. The two main components are research to investigate the relationship between environment and occupational health and safety related to pollution prevention initiatives in hospitals, and clearinghouse and website providing information about more environmentally sound, health and safe alternatives to conventional healthcare products, materials, and work practices.
