Graduate Certificate in Nanotechnology
The graduate certificate in nanotechnology is intended to respond to the increasing demand for trained professionals in nanoscience and technology. The certificate is designed for students with a background in chemistry, physics, biology, or any branch of engineering who wish to be prepared for the workforce in nanotechnology and nanomanufacturing. All students must hold a baccalaureate degree in engineering or science field. Students must complete an application available in the Graduate School.

The certificate consists of four courses (12 credits): one required core course on basic nanoscience, one core course on nanomaterial characterization (from a list of possible courses), and two electives chosen from a list of electives grouped in four concentration areas - materials, manufacturing, design and devices, and health and environmental impacts.

Offered in the Fall 2008, Introduction to Nanotechnology
