Previously, Russell served as the director of surface radar engineering for Raytheon’s Electronic Systems business. He had responsibility for performance on multiple radar development programs and management of production facilities, including the Advanced Products Center (APC) and Raytheon RF Components (RRFC). Prior to the surface radar engineering director position, he was the director of the Radar Design and Electronics Center for Electronic Systems. He also has experience as a manager for microwave systems.In addition to his professional accomplishments, Russell is involved in the University of Massachusetts K-16 Engineering Collaborative, the Industrial Advisory Board, and the National Science Foundation’s Engineering Research Center for Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere (CASA), and is the campus executive for the University of Massachusetts. Russell has completed multiple Raytheon management programs, including the Business Leadership Program and Raytheon Six Sigma Leadership Training, and is a qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist. Russell is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
(IEEE) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
